Philosophy and Principles of Martial Arts
While acknowledged as a traditionalist, Mr. Kim perceives Taekwon-do as an art that demands continual evolution, underscoring the commitment of practitioners to enhance every aspect in alignment with the philosophy and principles of teaching martial arts.
Non-Political
We prioritize our valuable time and energy on the art of Taekwon-do, steering clear of involvement in political matters like associations or federations. Our exclusive focus is on teaching and practicing Taekwon-do. Individuals aspiring to become proficient martial artists are warmly welcomed to our school, where they can be assured that political considerations have no place.
Complete System
We instruct Taekwon-do as a comprehensive system encompassing hand and foot blocks, punches, kicks, sweeps, joint locks, grappling, throws, and sport Taekwon-do following Olympic rules. While students have the option to specialize in specific areas, our school consistently offers classes covering all facets of Taekwon-do.
Analytical Approach
Every technique employed by a martial artist should be rational and grounded in solid physical principles. Practitioners must possess a comprehensive understanding of the rationale behind each technique. Consequently, our school actively promotes technical discussions among students and instructors. This approach sets us apart from other martial arts schools, and Mr. Kim’s experiences at Harvard and MIT may have influenced the incorporation of this distinctive methodology into our training.
A Home For Martial Artists
We encourage every member to consider the dojang as their martial arts home. All members enjoy unrestricted access to the school and classes throughout our extensive operating hours. It is paramount to us that members feel welcome to drop by anytime, for any reason.
